DESCRIPTION:The Ivers Summer Fete and Picnic\, FARm OUT\, is an event organised by the IVRA to bring the community together. \nThe event will be held at Iver Village Recreation Ground (not to be confused with Iver Heath Recreation Ground\, which is somewhere else) in the centre of Iver Village (SL0 9NX) on Saturday 19th July 2025. \nWe have funding support from Iver Parish Council and local sponsors such as Relay Technical Transport (sponsoring the children’s entertainer)\, Pinewood Studios (sponsoring the stage)\, Paul Antony the Hair Salon (sponsoring the petting zoo)\, and Oakwook Estates (sponsoring the huge bouncy castle). If you want to volunteer at the event for an hour or two\, please contact us now: hi@ivra.org.uk or fill in this form. \nFARm OUT will be free of charge and open for all local residents to attend – you are welcome to bring your own picnics\, but there will also be local stalls offering food and ice cream. \nActivities will be offered for all ages: \n\nBouncy castle obstacle course (see image below)\nGaldiator Dual for teenagers (see image below)\nAppearances by a local comedian – The Mark Jones Show.\nA visit from Buck Bear – the mascot of Bucks Radio.\nLocal child dancing groups.\nFootball activities\nRaffle and Tombola\n\nAnd much more! \nStalls will be offered for local organisations and businesses for a small fee. SUMMARY:Annual General Meeting 2025
DESCRIPTION:The Iver Village Residents’ Association’s Annual General Meeting is on 1st July 2025 and you should be there. Why? Because you count! \nEvery year\, the IVRA grows and with it\, its influence and ability to represent its members. This means that when we asked Bucks to come and talk to residents about the High Street\, officers did. They used the information provided by the residents to draw plans that will make it better for us all. This is just one example out of many instances where we made sure your voice is heard. \nThe IVRA’s mission is to represent the community’s interests\, needs\, and requirements with councillors\, the MP\, private companies\, and others. \nThe only issue is this: if you don’t talk to us\, we don’t know what issues you face and can’t relay them back to the different authorities. If you’re not a member\, you’re totally in the dark. So let’s change that\, shall we? \nBeing an IVRA member is currently free\, we don’t ask you to commit to anything. It is worth coming to the AGM on 1st July\, though\, since that’s when we discuss the most important issues and it’s your opportunity to be heard. \nAll you need to do at this stage is to come to the AGM (if you’re not an IVRA member and you live in Iver Village\, please sign up for free first: https://www.ivra.org.uk/membership/ )\, vote for your representatives\, and most importantly – tell us what you think needs to change in Iver Village. \nWe meet at Iver Village Hall on Tuesday 1st July at 7pm. \nIf you want to be voted in for the IVRA Committee and help manage and represent the association\, please let us know at hi@IVRA.org.uk \nHere’s the agenda for the 2025 AGM:\n1. Welcome\n2. Apologies for Absence\n3. Minutes of AGM 2024\n4. Chair’s Report on the IVRA’s activities in the last year\n5. Hon. Treasurer’s Report – to discuss the accounts for the year\n6. Membership Secretary’s report\n7. To nominate and elect Committee members\n8. Resident Participation – tell us what needs to change in Iver Village\n9. Any other business\n10. Date of next meeting \nThe most important item\, as we see it\, is the Resident Participation session\, and the majority of the meeting’s time will be dedicated to it. \nDon’t let your voice be unheard – come and discuss with us what needs to change. \nOliver Kraus\,\nChair\, Iver Village Residents’ Association

SUMMARY:Board Game Night
DESCRIPTION:We hear from our residents how hard it is these days to make new friends when everything is online. Some residents tell us they have lived in Iver Village for years and only know a few people. This is why we decided to organise a games night for the residents of Iver Village. \nBoard games are not only fun – they are the cool thing right now! Board game cafes have been popping up all over the country recently and the IVRA is jumping on the trend.\nWe know what you’re thinking – we make up crazy things all the time – but this time we’re not even lying!\nWe even paid the BBC to write a whole article about it (https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/clyw3d0qeeko) to make it believable (our solicitors would like to make it clear that we did not pay the BBC\, that we don’t control the news\, and that they don’t like the writer of these lines). \nThese game nights are a great opportunity for everyone to make new friends\, get to know neighbours\, save on heating costs\, or just spend a lovely evening with other people who live in the village. \nThe first event was on 31st January and it was a huge success. We are now getting ready for the next event which is: \n📅 On: 28th February \n⌚Between: 6.30 and 9.00 \n📌At: Iver Village Hall (the one in Iver Village\, please don’t accidentally go to Iver Heath). \n💷 It’s free\, but if you can spare a few quids\, donations are welcome. \nThere are going to be many different games to choose from so come along with old friends or make new ones on the day. \nPlease put it in your diary now so that you don’t forget. If you’re a family with children\, if you’re a teenager\, if you’re a young couple\, if you’re a young single\, if you’re middle ages\, if you’re retired\, and even if you think you’re too old for this stuff – you have a place at the table!

SUMMARY:Annual General Meeting 2024
DESCRIPTION:Iver Village Residents’ Association’s Annual General Meeting is on 30th July and you should be there. Why? Because you count! \nThis last year things started moving in the right direction for Iver – we have a larger network of residents involved\, Bucks Council started investing in our area (though not enough)\, and we have growing numbers of residents attending our events. \nThis means that if you’re an IVRA member\, there’s a better chance that your voice is heard and your needs are considered. If you’re not a member yet – you can only blame yourself for being unheard. After all\, being an IVRA member is free and we don’t ask you to commit to anything. \nThe IVRA’s mission is to represent the community’s interests\, needs\, and requirements with councillors\, the MP\, private companies\, and others. Since you are part of the community\, we want to ensure that your needs are represented and the only way to do that is by you coming and telling us. \nThat’s why 30th July is so important – because this is your time to be heard. \nWe meet at Iver Village Hall on Tuesday 30th July at 7pm. \nIf you want to be voted in for the IVRA Committee and help manage and represent the association\, please let us know at hi@IVRA.org.uk \n  \nHere’s the agenda for the 2023 AGM : \n1. SUMMARY:The BIG Community Litter Pick
DESCRIPTION:Once again\, our three villages and their respective Residents Associations will be taking part in the Great British Spring Clean in conjunction with the national campaign by Keep Britain Tidy. Each Residents’ Association will put together its own team and the one that picks up the most bags will be crowned the rubbish champion. \nThe Ivers Community Challenge is not just a litter pick. It’s also a mission to collect 200 bags across the Ivers but most importantly – it’s a competition to show who’s best! Last year Iver Heath managed to win by picking a few bags more than us – this can’t happen again. \nWe meet: \n\nOn 16th March\nAt 1pm\nOutside the Iver Parish Council office on the High Street\n\nGloves\, pickers\, fluorescent vests and bags will be supplied. You bring the labour and the laughs. Fair swap? \n  \nAfter the litter pick\, we’ll reconvene at the community pub\, The Swan\, around 3.30pm for chips and sarnies\, which are supplied free to all those who take part courtesy of Iver Parish Council who are sponsoring the event (thank you IPC!!!). \nPlease bring funds for your own drinks. Prizes are on offer for those teams that collect the largest number of bags\, the largest group\, the youngest picker\, and many more. \nAlso:\nTo win\, we need as many people as possible on our team\, so it’s vital that you tell other people about it and encourage them to be part of the right team\, the best team\, the Iver Village team! \n

SUMMARY:Annual General Meeting 2023
DESCRIPTION:The Iver Village Residents’ Association is having its Annual General Meeting and you need to be there. \nWhile it’s a lot of fun complaining about how terrible things are on Facebook and with friends\, it’s not as fun realising that things don’t change when you just blow off steam instead of doing something more productive. This something doesn’t need to be huge and you don’t need to grab a shovel and start filling in potholes. \nIn the last year since the current committee was elected\, the IVRA has represented its members and managed to get their voices heard by councillors\, the MP\, private companies\, and more. There’s still much more to do\, but you can’t say that your voice doesn’t matter\, that things won’t change\, or that others won’t lift a finger to help. We get a lot of support and help\, we are being listened to\, and we can represent you if we know what you need. \n  \nAll you need to do at this stage is to come to the AGM (if you’re not an IVRA member and you live in Iver Village\, please sign up for free first: https://www.ivra.org.uk/membership/ )\, vote for your representatives\, and most importantly – tell us what you think needs to change in Iver Village. \n  \nTo make a change\, we need you to be there – it’s really important! We meet at Iver Village Hall on Tuesday 25th July at 7pm. \n  \nIf you want to be voted in for the IVRA Committee and help manage and represent the association\, please let us know at hi@IVRA.org.uk \n  \nHere’s the agenda for the 2023 AGM : \n1. Welcome\n2. Apologies for Absence\n3. Minutes of AGM 2022\n4. Chair’s Report on the IVRA’s activities in the last year\n5. Hon. Treasurer’s Report\n6. Membership Secretary’s report\n7. Vote to approve changes to the IVRA’s Constitution\n8. To elect and nominate Committee members\n9. Resident Participation – tell us what needs to change in Iver Village\n10. Any other business\n11. Date of next meeting \n  \nThe most important item\, as we see it\, is the newly added Resident Participation session. None of the current Committee members possesses mind-reading abilities so if we don’t know what you want and need\, we can’t achieve what you want and need. \nWe promised to give you a voice and power to change – not to get power and change things in the way we think. The whole problem is that councils\, MPs\, and governments think they know what’s good for us without actually asking us. \nDon’t let your voice be unheard – come and tell us what needs to change. \nAnother item will be a vote to approve changes to the IVRA’s Constitution: \nThe Committee recommends several small amendments to the IVRA’s constitution. These amendments largely reflect how it has been necessary to run the IVRA over the last year\, the economic climate and the impact it may have on residents. \nYou can find the proposed new constitution here and the existing one here. \nTo allow easy comparison between the current statement and its proposed amendment\, we created this document in which the constitution is presented in its current form with the proposed amendments to each point written in orange below each point as applicable. Any notes to the amendment are in italic purple. \nA few of the main points are: \n\nAllowing the Committee to keep the membership free for longer.\nAdding the option of creating working groups\, not just subcommittees.\nIncreasing the number of committee members to 14 so that more residents can be involved in decisions and assist in making our village better.\nElecting all committee members and officers every year for simplicity and accountability.\n\n  \nOliver Kraus\, \nChair\, Iver Village Residents’ Association

SUMMARY:Light Up the Ivers
DESCRIPTION:The IVRA has organised another year of LIGHT UP THE IVERS throughout the advent month of December. \nDon’t know what Light up the Ivers is? here’s a bit of background: Back in 2018 the wonderful Sally Roberts (now the IVRA’s Vice Chair) started a great tradition where businesses put lovely displays at their window from the 1st to the 24th of December. Every day another shop joins the display\, creating a parish-size advent calendar. We created a map of the different displays and we add them when they come on.

SUMMARY:IVRA Committee Meeting - October 2022
DESCRIPTION:The Committee is the managing body of the IVRA – we discuss different issues that are brought to our attention and hear what the subcommittees have to report. If residents want to give us feedback or tell us about something that they think we should know or be involved in\, they are welcome to do so – either by contacting us or by coming to the committee meeting and telling us about it at the dedicated time for resident participation. \nWe also encourage the members to come and just hear what’s going on\, what we are planning\, and what the Committee members’ thoughts are on the different subjects. We work in complete transparency for the residents\, with the residents\, and as residents. \nOur next Committee meeting is on Tuesday 11th October at 7pm at Iver Village Hall. Come and join us!

SUMMARY:High Street Litter Pick
DESCRIPTION:On 06/08/2022 we had our first litter pick! \nWe spent a few hours\, made the High Street look better\, and more importantly – we brought hope that things can be better around here and that people do care. \n  \nSpeaking to the lovely residents who attended\, we learned that many people in the village share similar issues and concerns. We started something and we are going to do so much more! \nWe even had a health and safety briefing and points for picking up certain items to keep us all interested. Who said litter picking isn’t fun?!
