We hear from our residents how hard it is these days to make new friends when everything is online. Some residents tell us they have lived in Iver Village for years and only know a few people. This is why we decided to organise a games night for the residents of Iver Village.
Board games are not only fun – they are the cool thing right now! Board game cafes have been popping up all over the country recently and the IVRA is jumping on the trend.
We know what you’re thinking – we make up crazy things all the time – but this time we’re not even lying!
We even paid the BBC to write a whole article about it (https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/clyw3d0qeeko) to make it believable (our solicitors would like to make it clear that we did not pay the BBC, that we don’t control the news, and that they don’t like the writer of these lines).
These game nights are a great opportunity for everyone to make new friends, get to know neighbours, save on heating costs, or just spend a lovely evening with other people who live in the village.
The first event was on 31st January and it was a huge success. We are now getting ready for the next event which is:
📅 On: 28th February
⌚Between: 6.30 and 9.00
📌At: Iver Village Hall (the one in Iver Village, please don’t accidentally go to Iver Heath).
💷 It’s free, but if you can spare a few quids, donations are welcome.
There are going to be many different games to choose from so come along with old friends or make new ones on the day.
Please put it in your diary now so that you don’t forget. If you’re a family with children, if you’re a teenager, if you’re a young couple, if you’re a young single, if you’re middle ages, if you’re retired, and even if you think you’re too old for this stuff – you have a place at the table!
